Baptize SoCal - Pirates Cove Beach
Over 4,000 people were baptized on Pentecost Sunday at Pirates Cove Beach as part of Baptize SoCal! This event was held to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Jesus Movement, which led hundreds of thousands of people to receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Over 280 churches were involved in this recent baptism event, with 8,000 attendees in total.
In response to this powerful move of God, our church plans to follow the example set in the book of Acts where Peter preaches on Pentecost Sunday and 3,000 are saved, baptized in water, and begin meeting regularly in fellowship. As part of this next step, we are launching our Small Groups Summer initiative to get those within our church connected in community on a regular basis.
