Every year our Women’s Ministry offers a beautiful candlelight dinner as a gift to our women and their friends, providing a time to reflect, renew friendships, and rejoice in the birth of Jesus Christ, our beautiful Savior and Lord. It’s a great way to set the mood for the holiday season. This year’s dinner is entitled “Gold, Frankincense, and Myrrh.” We will focus on the Scripture, “We have seen His Star…and have come to worship Him” (Matthew 2:2). We feel the light of our Lord is shining more and more brightly, and the only appropriate response is to worship.
We currently have 28 tables being decorated uniquely by or beautiful hostesses, coordinated by Kathy Lorenzo, and it’s always fun just to see their amazing creations. Miss Deborah is overseeing the kitchen and a delicious catered meal. Our “Men in Black” are the stars of the show. They really put their hearts into serving our women and making us feel special. This year…for the first time…Pastor Mike is going to join the Men in Black! A few weeks ago he was in the Dunk Tank at the Harvest Festival, and now he’s going to be all dapper and gentlemanly. Some of our younger women are going to offer a very special coffee bar as we arrive for the evening! I’m so excited to have this special gift for the evening!
We will also have unique gifts for sale at this event from various women entrepreneurs in our church, in case you’re interested in getting a head start on some Christmas shopping. These women are generously offering some door prizes, which is always fun! We will have worship, special music, a video presentation, and a Christmas message from me. We’ll end with Candlelight Caroling led by our precious and talented Anne Lazenby with our Christmas singers. This is a special time of year to come together from all sections of the church and maybe to invite a friend who needs to think about Jesus this holiday season. I hope to see you there!
With love to each one of you…
